LICA Writing Contest

Environmental Literacy

Earth Day Writing Contest

Duration: January to June   CONTEST CLOSED – NEXT CONTEST IS IN 2025

Every year, LICA hosts a writing contest to align with the Grade 6 and 9 Provincial Achievement Tests. Each year, earthday.org chooses an environmental theme, which LICA uses to create their writing prompts, to allow students a chance to practice their functional writing skills. Students are provided background information, although they are encouraged to do their own additional research. Teachers may use our contest prompts as a marked assignment, however students of any grade may participate on their own as well!
