Additional Programs

Stream of Dreams

LICA is the host organization for Stream of Dreams in our region. Stream of Dreams is an eco-education program focusing on water, watersheds, and streams, creating a lasting community art legacy to beautify and inspire the whole community. During the program, LICA staff will deliver a presentation to every class in your school, or to a community group. The presentation focuses on the importance of water and keeping our watersheds clean and our fish healthy. After the presentation, each participant paints a beautiful wooden Dream Fish to be placed on their school/organizations chain link fence in a flowing mural.

LICA hosts two sessions per year, in Spring and Fall. To apply, please complete the application form and submit it to outreach@lica.ca.

LICA’s Little Environmental Stewards (LLES)

NEW in 2024! The LLES program involves a field day with students to gain hands-on experience in a variety of environmental fields, referencing both Western and Indigenous Knowledge. Targeting grade 4-5 students, participants will rotate between three workstations for a day to learn about water, plants, animals, and air quality in the Beaver River Watershed. With activities for water chemistry, wildlife identification, riparian areas, and air deposition, we look forward to fostering the next generation of Environmental Stewards!
