The Beaver River Watershed Alliance (BRWA) is an independent standing committee of LICA, which also incorporates the participation of individuals and organizations from the broader BRWA membership, which may be outside of LICA.
The operation of the BRWA is governed by their Terms of Reference and the Bylaws and Policies of LICA.
The BRWA will:
- Serve as the Watershed Planning and Advisory Council (as set out by Alberta Environment) for the Beaver River Watershed
- Assist and/or support regional water monitoring in the Beaver River watershed (surface water, groundwater, wetlands, and aquatic ecosystem health)
- Further and promote understanding of water quality and water-related issues within the watershed, including the carrying capacity, type, and amount of water use
- Facilitate communication of monitoring results and reports to stakeholders, community, and governmental organizations
